Automation Tooling Systems - Machine Tool Division

For medium to high volumes, these systems emphasize flexibility while producing complex parts reliably.  Utilizing standard turrets or tool changers where necessary, automation and integration with ATS or other machines, ATS features a complete turnkey package or base models depending upon your needs.

Flex-Four Multiple Station Machining Center

The Flex Four is part of a new generation of thinking at ATS Machine Tool Division.  Designed for a machining cube of 300mm or smaller, it represents cutting edge thinking where flexibility is concerned.  Utilizing 3 each of our vertical or horizontal machining centers equipped with quick change capable fixtures, coolant through, single, double or turret spindles, these machines utilize off the shelf componentry for faster lead times and quick part changeovers.  Essentially, you have a machining center with a small footprint, completely enclosed workspace, several spindles in the cut at the same time and one operator.

CNC Flexible (6) Station Live Spindle Turning Multiple Station Machines

The 'Turn-6' is the ultimate machine for turning; utilizing ANSI standard turning tools and live milling, including thread-milling capability.  With all stations and chucks utilizing coolant through capability, a completely enclosed environment for “clean floor” operations and quick change tooling in a well lit environment – this machine will change the way you think about the capabilities of a dial machine.  It's essentially five turning centers built into a dial machine.  10KW spindle motors are standard, 15KW are optional.  Box or linear ways are installed dependant upon application.  If you have parts with turned features that also require significant milling, ATS would just use the appropriate slide unit from one of our other machines - see below...

CNC Flexible Satellite Pallet Multiple Station Machining Centers 3 to 15 Station

The 'Rotoper' is a satellite rotary transfer machine which can be built with three to fifteen stations.  Utilizing a 3 or 4-axis head, with full 'B' axis in the pallet, up to full 5-axis machining can be done at any or all stations.  See "News" for details on the new 4 Axis trunnion-typeslide unit.  Each station may also be a 3-axis vertical or a horizontal machining center with a toolchanger or turret and a ’B’ axis for rigidity and full flexibility in a more traditional 4-axis setup.  Utilizing quick change fixtures and HSK or V-Flange spindle tooling, the 'Rotoper' is a three plus spindle machining center with coolant through standard and high speed optional.   ATS utilizes linear (roller) or box ways depending upon the application.  Competing against standard horizontal or vertical machining centers on cycle time, number of operators, number of sets of tools and cost per part is no contest.  Have a look at the 'Rotoper-3' below.  This machine is attracting alot of attention for its versatility, throughput and flexibility.

CNC Multiple Station Machining Systems featuring Index on Index

The 'Flex-Dial' is available with from three to twelve stations, each of which can be fitted with up to four axes CNC heads.  Fixtures can be indexable, and when combined with turrets, they are index on index capable for machining of up to five sides of a part.  These machines utilize a traditional indexing table by proven manufacturers.  See the 'Flex-Four' below for a machine using three 3-axis slide units in a small, flexible package that will totally change the ways dials are perceived in the market - forever.

Of course, ATS can adapt these machines to allow more dedicated operations for the utmost in productivity.  By using stations within the machine to perform operations such as multiple, simultaneous hole drilling, tapping or gun-drilling for example, we can customize the machine to suit the design and production requirements of your specific product.  ATS is one of the few manufacturers in North America that has the knowledge and capability to design and build equipment to machine, assemble and test your products on a turnkey basis.
