Formed in June, 2001 RJR Machine Tools is the brainchild of Ross Wegryn-Jones and Ron Jones – two related individuals each with a unique perspective to the metal machining industry.  Formed from two separate career paths with long-term experience, Ron and Ross have joined forces to offer a superior product & service mix to the medium to high volume production shops in RJR’s territory – the States of Michigan, Northern Indiana and Northern Ohio.

Ron Jones earned his engineering apprenticeship in Birmingham, England in the 1960’s on multi-spindle screw machines with Lucas-Girling.  Moving to the United States in 1967, his experience working for Kelsey-Hayes, Aeroquip, Pratt Burnerd America and Clausing (600 Group) over the years brought him to a keen understanding of what’s required in the manufacturing engineer’s world.  Later ownership of a stamping company in West Michigan brought experience as the owner of a manufacturing facility.  Since 1985, Ron has been selling production oriented machine tools including Mitsui Seiki USA to shops in Western Michigan.  Ron has a realistic, experienced approach to machine tool applications with years of knowledge from both sides of the industry.

Ross Wegryn-Jones has been in the machine tool industry all his professional life.  He has a marketing background, with degrees from Michigan State University (BA) and Western Michigan University (MBA).  His experience in the manufacturing world started in 1991 representing manual machinery and related equipment.  Later, a position in an independent manufacturers representative agency in Eastern Michigan provided for experience in the accessories field.  This company was concerned with cutting tools, spindle tooling, workholding, and training distributors on where these products were applied and how they worked.  Through the years, customers included just about every distributor and machine tool dealer in the State of Michigan.  Joint calls to machine shops to run tools was a large part of this position leading to valuable experience and knowledge of the industry in Eastern Michigan as a result. 

Together, RJR Machine Tools is dedicated to building a bond of trust between the machine tool distributors and the consumer.
